How Smart Assist uses your Google data
Read your email (gmail.readonly): to list your recent Inbox emails (sender, subject, date) and, when you ask for summaries, read the start of each email.
Modify email (gmail.modify): only to move an email to Trash or send a reply that you wrote, each after you click and confirm. Nothing is ever deleted permanently, and AI never sends, deletes, or changes email.
Calendar events (optional): to show your events, answer invites, and create or delete events you confirm.
AI processing: when you summarize, the sender, subject, and up to the first 2,000 characters of each email are sent to the AI provider (OpenAI or Anthropic) to write the summary. They are not used to train AI models, and your data is never sold or used for ads.
Full emails and attachments are not stored. The app runs on Vercel, and what is stored lives in our database, hosted by Neon, both in the United States. AI summaries are deleted after 30 days, saved to-dos after the time you choose (30 days unless you change it, up to 1 year), and you can delete your account and all data at any time in Settings → Privacy.
